Former UFC legend Ryan Bader was set to make his Bellator debut against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal at Bellator 180, that is until the injury bug struck Lawal. What initially seemed like a tragedy quickly gave way to great opportunity as Phil Davis stepped up to the plate to put his title on the line against the Bellator new-comer.
This comes as a shock to UFC fans where Bader won his last 3 of 4 outings never to receive a shot at the title. Bellator has decided to give the big man a fresh start with a big opportunity and we cannot wait. This fight will serve as a rematch for the two men, last time they met in 2015 Bader came away with the victory. Two short years later the men will square off for a title under a different banner.
Bellator 180 will take place on June 24, 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The event will be a $49.95 pay per view and boasts some of the biggest names in Bellator history. Fedor, Mitrione, Silva, Sonnen, Lima, Larkin, Chandler, and Primus. This card has shaped up to be one for the books and we cannot wait.
